Dear son of Maria and Alfredo Dias, beloved brother to Margarida,
Rosa,
Isabel, Filomena, Sandra and Anna. Carlos was born on February
27, 1983 at
Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Ontario. At the
tender age of
four years old, Carlos was diagnosed with congenital heart
disease and his
life expectancy was nine. Carlos love for life helped him
through his tough
times but he sucome to his disease at age 18. Carlos managed
to finish
school and even attend his prom which was a highlight in his
short but
productive life. Carlos graduated from Monigsnor Doyle Seconday
School in
June of 2001.
Carlos enjoyed the anticipation of the return of his siblings
home and was
often found waiting at the bottom of the driveway with a huge
smile on his
face. This is one of my fondest memories and something I will
always
cherish. Carlos often enjoyed weekends away with his eldest
sister,
Margarietta and her husband Shawn. Thou Carlos was very ill
he was like any
other brother and like to tease and get into scrapes with
is sister's. His
favorite thing was to pull our hair. Carlos loved his birthday
and parties.
Each year we would dissapoint him by telling him there wasn't
going to be
a party for him. Everyone pitched in to create a party and
on the day, we
would have all his friends arrive at the same time to surprise
him. This
created the biggest smile on his face, he would glow for the
rest of the
day.
Carlos was an amazing man. He had the ability to sense if you were
having a bad day and no matter how he was feeling he would always put his pain aside to make you smile
By age 14, Carlos body had deteriated and he had to rely on
a wheelchair.
He was then dependant on others for his daily needs and care.
As a child
his favorite show was Mr. Dressup, at the time of his death
his favorite
movie was Boys and Girls. Carlos had many friends and one
of his favorite
pasttimes was giving girls a spin on his wheelchair. This
he oftened did to
get a rise from them as he was a crazy driver. Carlos never
had a problem
speaking his mind and it often got him into trouble especially
when he
argued with a teacher.
Carlos with a fun loving, kind and gentle soul who had many
friends that
miss him and remember him fondly.
